We recently had a fantastic afternoon at Charlottetown Rural High school participating in an event put on by Special Olympics! Some of our students along with some of our grade 5 and 6 leadership students were able to try out many activities that Special Olympics has to offer. It was a very active and fun afternoon!
Thank you to all of the families who participated in the challenge! It was awesome to see your pictures and to see your families being active together! Our winners will be announced shortly as we are waiting for one of our prizes to arrive. We will be having another family activity challenge later in the year, so watch for the information!
The family activity challenge has begun! We are challenging all of our Sherwood School families to get active together. Take a picture of your family (student and at least one other family member) being active (running, biking, hiking, etc) and send it to school via print or email. We will post your picture and enter the student name for some great prizes.
We had a very successful cross country Zone meet at Elliott River School! Everyone did their best and had fun! We have some individual runners and two teams going to the Provincial Championships this weekend in MillRiver. Good luck to everone!
Our school Terry Fox Run was a great success! The rain held off for most of the event and we had great participation by students and staff. Our school Spare Change Day fundraiser was also a great success; we raised $895.00 for the Terry Fox Foundation!!!! Wow! Thank you to all who brought in their spare change, we are excited to forward all of the funds to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Our school Terry Fox Run will take place Friday, September 29th after the afternoon recess. We will begin in the gymnasium and students will then head outside for the run.
This year we are having a “Spare Change Day” with all of the proceeds going to the Terry Fox Foundation. On Friday, September 22nd students can bring a small amount of spare change to school and it will be collected throughout the day.
